Kasey-Anne was a vibrant, active, healthy little girl, who unbeknown to anyone was secretly battling the hidden demon – lymphoma.  From outside no –one would ever have guessed that this bright young lady was soon to leave us.

In a period of 10 weeks she fought a valiant battle with the cancer never really standing a chance.Kasey-Anne’s battle was fraught with obstacles as her symptoms were often diagnosed as other illnesses such as Kawasaki syndrome, and juvenile systemic arthritis.  Symptoms which at the start could easily have been mistaken as common colds, generic flu’s etc.

Kasey-Anne was a brave warrior, full of fight and resolve.  Her demeanor and exemplary manners hid the seriousness of her illness, healthy looking on the surface but seriously ill inside.

The reason why Kasey-Anne’s illness was hard to detect was because there is presently no means of early detection of the type of lymphoma she had.  Kasey-Anne had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Anaplastic, a form of lymphoma that spreads quickly like exploding fireworks, reigniting on every organ the sparks touch.

Kasey-Anne attended St Margaret’s Primary School in Maribyrnong, and was in Grade 2.  Her classmates, together with the whole school community prayed daily for her recovery.  Their tributes a constant reminder to the impact this little girl had on their lives.

Kasey-Anne leaves behind her parents Michael and Michelle and a younger sister Kristen, a child who is struggling to come to terms with why this had to happen to her sister.

We need your help in not only raising awareness of the disease but also to help find a way of early detection of the disease in children.  Early diagnosis will increase the rate of survival.  We are asking for donations so that we can fund research into finding early detection in children.  Please give generously to this worthy cause.
